X-Men Actor Has Cancer Growth Removed From Nose

Actor Hugh Jackman has had a fifth cancerous growth removed from his face.

The X-Men star posted a picture on Instagram of his nose covered with a plaster and a caption: "PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN".

It is the fifth time in two years the 47-year-old has had a basal cell growth removed from his face.

He puts the repeated bouts of cancerous growths down to a childhood in Australia where sunscreen use was not encouraged.

The star has been vocal in urging people to use protection, even launching a range of creams for children, and has advised sun-worshippers to get several check-ups each year.

He wrote on Instagram: "An example of what happens when you don't wear sunscreen. Basal Cell.

"The mildest form of cancer but serious, nonetheless. PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups."

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer, affecting more than 90% of US skin cancer patients.

The carcinomas generally do not spread but can damage surrounding tissue when removed.

A spectacular photo

A spectacular new photo of Earth from space recalls the most famous images of our planet ever taken.

The photo, which was captured by NASA's robotic Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), shows a sunlit Earth looming above a rumpled moonscape banded with shadow.

"The image is simply stunning," Noah Petro, deputy project scientist for LRO at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, said in a statement. "The image of the Earth evokes the famous 'Blue Marble' image taken by astronaut Harrison Schmitt during Apollo 17, 43 years ago, which also showed Africa prominently in the picture."

The shot is a sort of combination of the Blue Marble photo and an earlier "Earthrise" image, which was taken by the Apollo 8 crew — the first people ever to leave Earth orbit — as they entered orbit around the moon on Dec. 24, 1968.

Finally it seems that BMW has taken seriously and is preparing to bring its V12 masterpiece.Someone made a mistake and adopted this model on the German BMW web page.
Model will be a M760Li sports series M. This model will have standard sports package V12 M engine which in all likelihood,will produce more than 600 hp. With this BMW will approach S65 which has 621 hp.

The price of this model is not confirmed but is expected to be around 153,000 USD, much less than the price of the S65 which is 180,000 USD.

Sky Q is here as the Netflix-style 4K future of Sky TV

Sky has announced one of its most major advancements in the history of the company, Sky Q.

Sky Q is a not only a new set-top box but also touted as a new way of watching television.

Primarily, Sky Q will mean Sky can start broadcasting in 4K UHD resolution. This will be a premium service that costs extra, just as HD did when Sky first launched that.

The box will allow viewers to watch and record several shows at the same time on multiple devices in the home.

The Sky Q interface is more intuitive than the current offerings, relying more on pictures to make the experience more accessible.

The divide between online catch-up TV, live broadcast and recorded shows is going to become more blurred thanks to the new user interface. It will also be able to learn a viewer's tastes to tailor the options available based on favourites. Much like Netflix and Virgin Tivo currently offer.

Sky Q is being introduced to allow Sky to stay competitive while over-the-internet services like Netflix, Apple and now BT offer on demand content for affordable prices.

Sky Q should be available from early 2016.

Rolls-Royce woes spread to car branad

The boss of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has complained that the crisis at its jet engine maker namesake, Rolls-Royce Plc, is damaging the image of his company's luxury cars. 

Public confusion over the relationship between the two companies -which have been separate businesses since the mid-1970s - is causing "contagion", according to Torsten Müller-Ötvös, chief executive of the car maker.
He raised fears that Rolls-Royce car owners, seeking to signal their success, might balk at the brand being mistakenly associated with financial problems at Britain's most famous engineering company.
Mr Müller-Ötvös said: "We know how famous the brand is, and as much as we have done to make clear that they are separate, for many people it is hard to see the difference. When people read about turmoil at Rolls-Royce in a newspaper it causes concern."
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is owned by BMW, while Rolls-Royce Plc is a separate listed company and a member of the FTSE 100.
Fears of damage to the car maker's brand have grown as the engineering giant has churned out a string of negative updates.
It shocked the City 18 months ago with its first profit warning in a decade. This has been by followed by a further four warnings and downgrades. The shares have plunged more than 60pc as a result, wiping more than £10bn off the company's market value.
In contrast, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has enjoyed a renaissance in recent years, and in its last full year sold more than 4,000 cars, a record.
Mr Müller-Ötvös expressed sympathy for the plight of Rolls-Royce Plc, but warned that he was "determined to protect" the car maker after having "spent a great deal of time and money effectively resuscitating our part of the brand".
He added: "It is not supporting our business in the proper way and we are watching carefully."
The two companies are in regular contact, Mr Müller-Ötvös said, adding that Sir Ralph Robins, the former chairman of Rolls-Royce Plc, is now a member of the board of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
When the aircraft and marine engine-maker first hit problems, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars issued a press release spelling out the difference between the two. But deepening troubles at the listed company have increased concerns.
The risk to BMW-owned Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is high, according to Robert Haigh, director of Brand Finance, which analyses the value of brands. He said: "Knowing that your car bears the same name as the company that manufactured Spitfire engines is undoubtedly appealing.
"The flipside is that now that company is facing tumbling profits, a plunging price fall and thousands of job losses, the association is not so positive. For Rolls-Royce cars' status-conscious owners, this matters."
Rolls-Royce Plc declined to comment.

Hackers Access Nearly 2,000 Vodafone Accounts

Vodafone says hackers have accessed the accounts of 1,827 customers, just a week after a separate hacking attack at TalkTalk.

The hack could potentially give criminals customers' names, mobile numbers, bank sort codes and the last four digits of their bank accounts.

The company said an attempt had been made to access some of its customers' account details between midnight Wednesday and midday on Thursday.

An investigation has been launched by the company and the National Crime Agency and communications watchdogs were told on Friday.

A Vodafone spokesman confirmed 1,827 customers had their accounts accessed but added that the information obtained by the hackers "cannot be used directly to access customers' bank accounts".

The information does leave the customers open to fraud and perhaps phishing attempts, however, and Vodafone said the banks of affected customers had been contacted.

Vodafone said it is also contacting affected customers and helping them to change their account details.

They added: "Our investigation and mitigating actions have meant that only a handful of customers have been subject to any attempts to use this data for fraudulent activity on their Vodafone accounts.

"No other customers need to be concerned, as the security of our customers' data continues to be one of our highest priorities."

TalkTalk was hacked on 23 October, saying last Friday that fewer than 21,000 unique bank account numbers and sort codes were accessed.

Two boys - a 15-year-old from County Antrim in Northern Ireland and a 16-year-old from Feltham, west London - were arrested and released on police bail over that incident.

This insane 85-metre yacht costs £130 million

At 85 meters (278 feet) in length and weighing over 2,900 tons, the Solandge is enormous, but it isn't the size that sets this yacht apart.
The interior of the boat, designed by Aileen Rodriguez, could put the majority of English stately homes to shame with lavish detailing, a nine-person lift, vast rooms, and as many amenities as anyone could wish for.
The Solandge, the creation of renowned shipmaker Lürssen, comes with 29 crew, who cater to any owner willing to pay almost £750,000 (€1 million, $1.1 million) a week to live aboard the yacht which predominantly sails in sunnier waters, such as the Caribbean. The giant numbers don't stop there, however. The asking price for the Solandge is €175 million (£130 million, $200 million). The yacht is available from Burgess.

The Solandge was designed by Espen Øeino, which was has crafted some of the biggest and boldest super-yachts of the past decade. This one is no different, featuring swooping curves and multiple levels that give it a dramatic, Bond-villain-esque look.

The very upper deck — the boat has six — is dedicated to the owner. The outside area includes a Jacuzzi which has been recessed in order to prevent it from disturbing the view and a seating area for 15 or more.

With a crew of 29, preparing anything yourself is out of the question. The Solandge has multiple bars across its six levels all of which come with a trained bar tender, willing to whip up any cocktail desired.

Having all of the staff is useful when hosting on the vessel, which can comfortably sleep up to 16 guests at any time across a myriad of different bedroom spread across the six decks.

Moving inside, the Solandge is furnished unlike anything else that floats on the water. Many of the items look like they wouldn't be out of place in an English country mansion. Here is one of the indoor living spaces, furnished opulently.

Every aspect of the vessel is beautifully maintained, right down to the chandelier that hangs over one of the many dining tables that can seat up to 12. On the far wall is a painting, an unusual fixture on any yacht but this one.

The bedrooms, of which there are over eight, are all beautifully furnished. This is the master bedroom, located on the top deck. The whole upper suite includes his-and-her bathrooms, a Jacuzzi and a 180-degree view off the front of the boat.

One of the more unusual features of the Solandge is the full-size, fully equipped cinema room which can show the latest movies to the boat's occupants. For those who are feeling more lively, there is also a fully kitted out DJ deck on the upper level.

The boat includes a gym, with state-of-the-art equipment, that has a stunning view out onto the bow of the vessel. A giant sliding door reveals the outside and can let a breeze in. The area leads into the pool if you want a post-workout cool down.

While this may look like the Captain's chair, it's actually the in-house beauty salon located on the top deck. It comes with a qualified crew member who will tend to every aesthetic need.

The pool sits at the back of the boat and is a neat 5.5m (18ft) by 2.5m (8ft) making it perfect for early morning lengths. For colder climates the pool is heated and can provide a reprieve from the sea which, on a boat this size, can be a long way down.

The view from the highest point on the boat — the master suite — looking off the stern onto the clear blue sea of whichever exotic location the Solandge has sailed to.

Having won the "Best Exterior" award at the Monaco Yacht Show, the Solandge is certified in its design prowess. Øeino's design manages to effectively make a boat that measures over three-quarters of a football pitch long and is six decks high elegant and graceful in the water.

Due to its size, the Solandge is not quick. It has a top speed of 17.5 knots (20 mph). Of course, this just gives bystanders more time to admire this extraordinary vessel.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama hailed the courage and quick thinking of three high school friends who helped avert tragedy on a Paris-bound train last month as they came to the White House on Thursday, where he labeled them "the very best of America."
"Because of their courage, because of their quick thinking, because of their teamwork ... a real calamity was averted," Obama told reporters as he sat beside the three men — Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler — in the Oval Office. "It's these kinds of young people who make me extraordinarily optimistic and hopeful about our future. I thank each and every one of them and wish them well."
It was just the latest honor for the three friends who were traveling through Europe on Aug. 21 when an armed gunman attempted to open fire on a train from Amsterdam to Paris they were riding.
Skarlatos and Stone quickly moved to subdue the man, ultimately tackling him to the ground as he tried to shoot at them. Stone was wounded when the man slashed at him with a box cutter. Sadler and a British businessman helped hogtie the gunman on the floor of the train.
French President Francois Hollande awarded each the Legion D'honneur at the Elysee Palace in Paris, saying they faced down the "evil" of terrorism and prevented carnage. The trio was also feted at a parade in Sacramento, Calif., last week.
Skarlatos, a member of the Oregon National Guard, and Stone, who serves in the Air Force, wore their formal military dress for the presidential encounter. Sadler, a student at California State University, Sacramento, opted for a sharp blazer but no tie for the setting.
Obama teased Skarlatos for his quick addition to the cast of "Dancing With the Stars" while noting he planned to ultimately serve in law enforcement. But whatever each man ultimately does, "They're going to do it well," the president said.
"We just wanted to say thank you to them not only for saving so many lives," Obama said, "but also for making America look so good."
