Inter owner Erick Thohir says he would jump at the chance to sign Lionel Messi should he ever opt to leave Barcelona.

Messi has admitted in the past that he would like to finish his career at boyhood club Newell's Old Boys but Thohir says Inter would not pass up the chance to make such a stellar signing should the opportunity arise as he aims to take the club back to the elite of European football.

"Messi to Inter? Why not! When he finishes his contract with Barcelona, he'd be a great signing," he said.

"You know our intention: We want to take Inter to the place we deserve.

"We're first in the standings after 17 games. We're a solid team, with a great desire to win.

"We're building a young, strong team, with the guidance of Roberto Mancini, to compete with the best clubs in the world."

Meet the new London Taxi: hybrid TX5 black cab revealed

London’s black cab is a globally recognised icon. Like the red phone box, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, London’s famous Hackney Carriage has lined the streets of our capital for decades, with the most recent model remaining largely unchanged for almost 20 years.

Now though, current owner of the London Taxi Company (LTC), Geely, has debuted an all-new model for 2017 – called the TX5 – complete with a super-efficient hybrid powertrain, enough room for six passengers, and a bold new look.

 

The new black cab be built at the company’s state-of-the-art production facility in Warwickshire, following a substantial £300m investment programme.

TX5 design draws on the classic lines of the black cab

The TX5 design concept captures the spirit of past generations of LTC models and draws on more than sixty years of style that has made the black cab and iconic sight on the streets of London.
Senior vice president of Geely design, Peter Horbury, told Auto Express: “The brief was clear. It has to look like a London taxi.”

The new design uses a similarly vertical front grille, and rounded headlights, with a more upright stance and classy chrome touches. While the interior design is still under consideration, the six-seat layout has been confirmed, alongside the large panoramic glass roof for a more “premium experience.”

David Ancona, Design Director of Geely Barcelona said: “This decision was market driven. The [Mercedes] Vito quite successful because it had that extra seat. It allowed three couples to go out together, or people to go to airports in groups. So it was decided to go that way.”

It makes use of a new lightweight aluminium structure and composite panelling, and benefits from a futuristic plug-in hybrid drivetrain that will return a realistic range of “well over 100 miles” along with a “full five-star Euro NCAP score” – according to Geely bosses.

As before, the new London taxi will use a front engine, rear-wheel drive layout, allowing it to boast the same market-leading tight turning circle. Despite its obvious associations with the outgoing TX4, Geely tells us all 2,000 components have been designed from the ground up.

The taxi isn’t due to hit the streets until late 2017, though a production-ready version with prices and specs is expected a little earlier. Despite the higher specification and complex drivetrain, Ancona insists the TX5 won’t cost any more to buy or lease than the current model – thanks to government subsidies for low emission vehicles.

This insane 85-metre yacht costs £130 million

At 85 meters (278 feet) in length and weighing over 2,900 tons, the Solandge is enormous, but it isn't the size that sets this yacht apart.
The interior of the boat, designed by Aileen Rodriguez, could put the majority of English stately homes to shame with lavish detailing, a nine-person lift, vast rooms, and as many amenities as anyone could wish for.
The Solandge, the creation of renowned shipmaker Lürssen, comes with 29 crew, who cater to any owner willing to pay almost £750,000 (€1 million, $1.1 million) a week to live aboard the yacht which predominantly sails in sunnier waters, such as the Caribbean. The giant numbers don't stop there, however. The asking price for the Solandge is €175 million (£130 million, $200 million). The yacht is available from Burgess.

The Solandge was designed by Espen Øeino, which was has crafted some of the biggest and boldest super-yachts of the past decade. This one is no different, featuring swooping curves and multiple levels that give it a dramatic, Bond-villain-esque look.

The very upper deck — the boat has six — is dedicated to the owner. The outside area includes a Jacuzzi which has been recessed in order to prevent it from disturbing the view and a seating area for 15 or more.

With a crew of 29, preparing anything yourself is out of the question. The Solandge has multiple bars across its six levels all of which come with a trained bar tender, willing to whip up any cocktail desired.

Having all of the staff is useful when hosting on the vessel, which can comfortably sleep up to 16 guests at any time across a myriad of different bedroom spread across the six decks.

Moving inside, the Solandge is furnished unlike anything else that floats on the water. Many of the items look like they wouldn't be out of place in an English country mansion. Here is one of the indoor living spaces, furnished opulently.

Every aspect of the vessel is beautifully maintained, right down to the chandelier that hangs over one of the many dining tables that can seat up to 12. On the far wall is a painting, an unusual fixture on any yacht but this one.

The bedrooms, of which there are over eight, are all beautifully furnished. This is the master bedroom, located on the top deck. The whole upper suite includes his-and-her bathrooms, a Jacuzzi and a 180-degree view off the front of the boat.

One of the more unusual features of the Solandge is the full-size, fully equipped cinema room which can show the latest movies to the boat's occupants. For those who are feeling more lively, there is also a fully kitted out DJ deck on the upper level.

The boat includes a gym, with state-of-the-art equipment, that has a stunning view out onto the bow of the vessel. A giant sliding door reveals the outside and can let a breeze in. The area leads into the pool if you want a post-workout cool down.

While this may look like the Captain's chair, it's actually the in-house beauty salon located on the top deck. It comes with a qualified crew member who will tend to every aesthetic need.

The pool sits at the back of the boat and is a neat 5.5m (18ft) by 2.5m (8ft) making it perfect for early morning lengths. For colder climates the pool is heated and can provide a reprieve from the sea which, on a boat this size, can be a long way down.

The view from the highest point on the boat — the master suite — looking off the stern onto the clear blue sea of whichever exotic location the Solandge has sailed to.

Having won the "Best Exterior" award at the Monaco Yacht Show, the Solandge is certified in its design prowess. Øeino's design manages to effectively make a boat that measures over three-quarters of a football pitch long and is six decks high elegant and graceful in the water.

Due to its size, the Solandge is not quick. It has a top speed of 17.5 knots (20 mph). Of course, this just gives bystanders more time to admire this extraordinary vessel.

Britain’s biggest toy megastores is celebrating its 30th anniversary – after selling a staggering 3 billion toys to 360 million customers over the last three decades. For thirty something’s it will seem like only yesterday when they set foot in a Toys R US store for the first time becoming Britain’s first Toys R Us kids. 
The toy giant opened their first five stores in the UK in 1985, when Transformers (Robots in Disguise) ruled the universe and a slow and unwieldy Amstrad Home Computer System was considered the ultimate state-of-the-art computer game. Now the 92 store chain has set up a ‘Toy Timeline’ to show how kids choice of toys has come full circle with Turtles, Thunderbirds and Barbie along with long term popular classics like Star Wars and LEGO appearing yet again in top toy predictions for Christmas 2015.
Toys R Us was founded over 70 years ago in the USA and now operates in 33 Countries but Toys R Us in Britain was the first company owned venture outside North America. Company spokesman Mike Coogan said: “When we opened people just knew us for Toys – we are now so much more. Our product range has broadened massively over the years.
